Open Question: I want to go to college in New York, I told my mom i wanted to to go there and she said no.?

my mother is not letting me go to NY because its to far, she wants me to go to the university of Santa Barbra where my sister went or San Diego my dad wants me to study in Bakersfield where he lives. They both don't support me at all. I'm just 16 and i want to prepare to go there I'm starting to save money,getting a job my older sister supports me 100% but i really want my parents support. My mother thinks NY is a bad place there's always cops or somebody dieing. but it really depends on the place. I want to live there because that's where life begins and i want the opportunity and take it . but what do i do with my parents?
